About the Three of Us

Miriam Cleary, osu, is foundress and Program Co-Director of the Center. She has conducted training programs for spiritual directors in the Caribbean, Africa, South America, Asia and New Zealand and has facilitated groups in India and Ireland. Sr. Miriam has a private practice in spiritual direction and is experienced in giving directed and guided retreats. She is a member of the United States Eastern Province of Ursulines and holds Masters degrees in Spiritual Direction, in Pastoral Counseling and in Mathematics.

 

 

Patricia Ann Dwyer, CND, MA, CTS is a member of the Congregation of Notre Dame. Along with private practice in spiritual direction and supervision of spiritual directors, Patricia Ann is the coordinator of two training programs: spiritual directors in Rockville Centre, NY, and supervisors at St. Ignatius Retreat House, Manhasset, NY. She is the co-director of a two-month Internship Program in the directed and guided retreat at St. Ignatius. Other areas of ministry include Wholistic Spirituality and cross-cultural dimensions, Dream Tending, facilitation, and MBTI consultation. Recently, Patricia Ann served six years as an elected member and then President for Spiritual Directors International Coordinating Council and she was a consultant in forming the first Spiritual Directors Internship in Belize, Central America.

 

Michael Wastag, O.Carm., born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, holds B.A. and M.A degrees in Mathematics, and a B.S. in Computational Mathematics from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois. He worked in research and development at Argonne National Laboratory before he entered the Carmelites. Fr. Michael received an M.Div. Degree from Washington Theological Union in Washington, DC. He served as the editor of two Carmelite periodicals, The Carmelite Review and The Sword, and he has edited two manuscripts, Master of the Sacred Page and Mother, Behold Your Son. Fr. Michael also served as the Director of Carmel Retreat in Mahwah, NJ and the Executive Secretary for the Carmelite Institute in Washington, DC. He is currently pursuing a D.Min. Degree at Fordham University.
